About us

Patients with health problems have traditionally had to visit clinics regularly for treatment. This is inconvenient and disruptive for the patient, and can be increasingly unnecessary. Advances in medicine mean far more patients can be treated at home.

Our Philosphy

Physio@Home believes that mobile physiotherapy can offer huge potential to allow more patients to be treated in their own homes, to enable them to take more control over their care, time, convenience and to improve their quality of life.

Physio@Home Ltd was founded by Gavin Bolger MSCP and this philosophy is being put into practice for the Yorkshire population. With help from Stephen Hampson MCSP we are able to offer you this holistic treatment service that caters for your specific needs without leaving the house!

The Therapists

Gavin Bolger

I qualified as a physiotherapist from Liverpool in 2002. I am originally from Doncaster and have worked in the NHS for 7 years, working at Doncaster DRI, York YDH and at present, as a senior physio at Selby War Memorial Hospital. I have had several years experience in treating musculoskeletal disorders and have completed many post-graduate courses. Currently I am studying a Post Graduate Certificate in Manipulative therapy at The University of Teeside. I have an interest in sports injuries and have had experience in treating players at the York Knights Rugby League Club.

Stephen Hampson MCSP SRP AACP

I am originally from Carlisle but went to university in Bradford. I qualified as a physiotherapist in 2002 and got my first job at Doncaster Royal Infirmary, where I have been working now for over 7 years. After completing my rotations I decided to specialise in Neurology and have been involved with neuro-rehabilitation ever since. I have completed my Bobath training and I am a qualified functional electrical stimulation therapist (used for drop foot). I also have specialist experience in facial palsy. I am currently training in Pilates therapy.

Physio@Home may also use other registered physiotherapists throughout the Yorkshire area if Stephen and I are unable to reach you directly.

The Future

Our 5 year plan is to expand this concept and travel further throughout the UK taking on new staff to cover different areas, in the North initially. Currently we only operate in the evenings & weekends, however we aim to employ more registered physiotherapists in order to make appointments any-time & any-day.

We believe there may be scope to set up this service in order to see you whilst you are at work! This new service Physio@Work would be sponsored by your employers while you are at work! This concept could mutually benefit and be favourable for you and your employer.

"Physio@Home has your best interests at heart & we are committed to putting you in control"
